Cape Disappointment lighthouse (#1230)

Cape Disappointment lighthouse (#1230)
Deadman's Cove (or Hollow), a picturesque inlet, so named because of the bodies of sailors/fishermen that have washed up there from ships lost at the mouth of the Columbia. Yes, there's what appears to be a child walking on the beach.

A grim name for being so picturesque!

The more I've looked at the history of shipping (and fishing) along the West Coast, the late 1800's and early 1900's all look pretty grim.
