Bombay Beach "Missing" (#0751)

Whenever I'm near the Salton Sea, I stop in Bombay Beach to see what has happened. The town has been struggling for years and so it looked much as it had in the past few years, though a little worse -- abandoned homes slowly sinking into the desert. What I didn't expect, though, was an abandoned cottage with a wall painted white and milk cartons attached to the side.

These homes are on the road that is now closest to the Salton Sea -- the sea, and some homes that were swamped by the sea, are on the other side of dike that is along the left edge of the picture.
