Coulterville Chinatown goose (#0611)

Coulterville Chinatown goose (#0611)
My scariest encounter while on the trip in the mountains -- a goose. While getting out of the car I heard a rustling sound and then a very loud honking. The goose seemed to be quite upset that I was approaching his/her property. It didn't stop while I was taking pictures of the Chinatown grocery, so I hurried.

I once had a guy tell me a story about how he was riding his bike on the Lake Front Trail when he came upon a bunch of Canada geese. He just barrelled on, figuring the the geese would move, but the geese just stared at him and hissed. He hit one and went over the handlebars, putting a gash in his head. The goose never moved. It just kept hissing.

On the positive side... I was camping in a remote part of British Colombia when the geese were migrating north and their honking sounds when flying overhead were rather mystical sounding.

We have a lot of geese fly overhead here as they follow Lake Michigan one direction of another. Some night when I'm up late with the window open, I hear them passing overhead, It's very soothing.
