CA-140 Emory (#0539)
Abandoned building in what was, per the web page linked below, Emory. Per that web page, this was a boarding house for workers at a lead mine that is further up the hill. As the picture in the linked story indicates, the Yosemite Valley Railroad once ran on that side of the Merced river, taking freight to/from mines in the area and passengers to El Portal. The railroad was abandoned in 1945 and the tracks were ripped up; this and other nearby buildings are now only accessible via a dirt trail. www.yosemitevalleyrr.com/prototype/vrtltour
