Don Pedro Reservoir - CA 49 (#0527)
Don Pedro Reservoir, on CA-49 west of Sonora. Don Perdro Reservoir was first started in 1923 and greatly expanded in 1971. It blocks the Tuolumne river and provides water for Central Valley agriculture (and cities) through the Modesto and Turlock Irrigation Districts. The portion of the reservoir shown here along CA-49 is only a small fraction of the overall reservoir, which is visible from the map.
