Tule Lake (Japanese) Segregation Center (0975)

Tule Lake (Japanese) Segregation Center (0975)
The entire National Park Service office of the Tule Lake Segregation Center, within the Tulelake Museum. The man at the counter was extremely knowledgeable and we had a quite good discussion about the relocation centers and local communities. In particular, he explained quite well why the word 'interment' was replaced with the more accurate 'relocation center' for the other camps, and that Tule Lake was described as a 'segregation center' because it was designated as a center for those among the relocated Japanese who either refused to sign a loyalty oath (to the country that imprisoned them for being of Japanese ancestry) or were otherwise poor fits in the segregation camps.
