Trona CA transport routes (0610)

Plaque located at the beginning of the road to the Trona Pinnacles. Plaque documenting the wagon routes that were developed in the late 1800's to haul borax from Searles Lake, which is just east of the sign, to the railroad junction in Mojave. One of the wagon routes paralleled what later became the Trona Railroad (see nearby pictures).
