Panoche Rd (0470)
Climbing out of the Panoche area headed west towards Hollister. Though I had seen no one for several hours, this road (one-lane, twisty) had more traffic -- see the truck further downhill.

What is it about California and those lane-and-a-half paved roads??

I wonder about that too. Many are old rail lines or horse-drawn wagon tracks that were paved over, but I would have thought those would actually be narrower with infrequent wider spots for passing, rather than being fairly consistently narrow.
