The Black Rock Lava Flow is signed on the highway as a BLM day-use area, though the modern visitor stand at the area had been vandalized. This plaque seemed to date from quite some time back.

Everything about the area seemed to be haphazard. If my memory is right, the road back into the area was unmarked at the time. I do recall that the small parking area/display stand had been trashed.
