Saturday 26 July 2025 – For quite some time this derelict Plaxton President bodied double decker has stood on land adjacent to The Willows Campsite, Hurdle Drove, West Row. Its position offers good views of the runway at RAF Mildenhall - so perhaps that is its purpose? It lacks window glass so wouldn’t provide good shelter though!
The broken registration plate begins with an ‘X’ so would imply it was new between March 2000 and February 2001.

Thursday 18 March 2004 - In 2000 the Mayflower Corporation (owners of bus manufacturers Alexander, Dennis and Duple Metsec) merged with the Henleys Group (owners of coachbuilder and dealer Plaxton) to form TransBus International.
This scene shows part of the workshop premises at South Anston near Sheffield. On site there were about 18 tri-axle double decker buses which had operated in Hong Kong and possibly East Africa.
In this view are three 1990 Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian ON3R49C18Z4 ex Hong Kong examples. In the distance ER 9169 (ex Citybus 131), against the doors ES 4877 (ex Citybus 145) and bottom right ES 3771 (ex Citybus 143).
The white coach is X812 XEX, a Volvo B10M-62/Plaxton (Sep 2000), lettered for McEwens Coaches yet retaining the graphics of its previous operator, Simonds of Botesdale.
Also in the photo is a Shearings Holidays Volvo B10M and former Shearings 713 (N713 UVR), Volvo/Van Hool
Across the road, beyond ER 9169, is the coach showroom/sales area.

Tuesday 17 August 2010 (1015) – Goodsir Coaches from Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey. North Wales 708 EYG was a most unusual visitor to Mildenhall which I just managed to snap whilst out shopping! A Berkhof Axial bodied Volvo the original registration of which I believe was FN03 DXM and new to Brown of Broxburn, West Lothian in April 2003. Welsh dragons proudly flank the fleetname in the front windscreen. The livery is of a previous owner Caelloi Motors of Pwllheli.
