Finglands Coaches H907 AHS at the Smoke House Inn, Beck Row – Sep/Oct 1993 (206-22A)

Finglands Coaches H907 AHS at the Smoke House Inn, Beck Row – Sep/Oct 1993 (206-22A)
Late September/early October 1993 - The Smoke House Inn at Beck Row became quite a large establishment with additional hotel bedrooms provided in large ground floor extensions at the rear of the smaller original building. Through good marketing effort the establishment attracted many coach tour companies large and small as a base for East Anglian tours for quite some years.

Most of these tours were of five day duration which arrived late afternoon on Mondays departing after breakfast on Fridays. On the other three days visits to popular East Anglian tourist spots like Cambridge, Constable Country, Norfolk Broads, Suffolk Villages etc were arranged.

A less frequent visitor was Finglands of Manchester. H907 AHS, a Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Volvo B10M had been new to Park’s of Hamilton in March 1991.

Finglands was founded in the early 1900s and was one of the pioneer coach operators working a Manchester-London coach service. In 1992 the business was acquired by East Yorkshire Motor Services who sold the coaching part of the business to Bullocks Coaches in 2013.
