Wednesday 16 August 2023 – Mercedes-Benz Citaro O 530 GN articulated bus seen in Bolzano (in the Italian language) or Bozen (in German).

In this north eastern region of Italy, which abuts neighbouring Austria – the border is about 13km/8 miles to the east) the main spoken languages are Italian and German together with Ladin.
Services in the region are organised by ‘sta’ which has a name in the three languages – südtirolmobil; alto adige mobilità; südtirolmubiltà all carried with a partial ‘M’ logo on the vehicles. Destination displays are shown in the two main languages.

SASA (Societa AutobusServizi D’Area/Stadtischer Autobus Service AG) is the concessionarie which operates a number of services on behalf of sta. SASA bus 517 was working service 111 to Liefers/Laives on the south side of the town, a journey of 42 minutes with a weekday frequency of every 20 minutes. The SASA logo can be seen above the front wheel in the photograph.
