First Eastern Counties 36268 (BG12 YKA) in Norwich - 2 Dec 2022 (P1140234)
Friday 2 December 2022 (1107) – First Eastern Counties Buses 36268 (BG12 YKA) climbing Agricultural Hall Plain towards Castle Meadow in Norwich.

It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new in June 2012 to First Games Transport - the division of the First Group that provided transport at the 2012 London Olympics. It carries branding for the Yellow Line group of services into the city from Thorpe Marriott (28), Taverham/Drayton (29) or Fakenham (X29) all of which share a common route from Taverham.

Digressing a little, Anglia House – the home of Anglia Television – forms the backcloth. Anglia Television (on air known as ITV Anglia) is the ITV franchise holder in Eastern England. It was well known for airing the quiz show ‘Sale of the Century during the 1970s and early 1980s. At the start of the programme, which was announced as ‘And now from Norwich it’s the quiz of the week’, the Anglia TV emblem of a sterling silver statue of a knight on horseback was featured. This imposing statue stands about two feet high was (still is?) displayed in the reception of Anglia House.

A 1983 YouTube film of the programme intro (brace yourself!!):
