Cambus Limited 718 (TEX 405R) in Cambridge – 21 Aug 1991 (147-3)

Cambus Limited 718 (TEX 405R) in Cambridge – 21 Aug 1991 (147-3)
Wednesday 21 August 1991 - In September 1984 the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company, a National Bus Company subsidiary, was split up. ECOC itself retained the operations in Norfolk and Suffolk whilst the western part, covering Cambridgeshire and the Newmarket and Haverhill areas on the edge of West Suffolk, passed to a newly created Cambus Limited.

Cambus 718 (TEX 405R), an Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol VR, was new as ECOC VR195 in May 1977. For quite some time this bus was based at ECOC’s Mildenhall outstation but found its way to becoming a Haverhill outstation bus before the split occurred. As a result of this move its presence in the new Cambus operating area it was a candidate for transfer to the new Cambus company at the formation.

It was seen here by Bradwells Court in St. Andrew’s Street, Cambridge. In the background is Optare City Pacer bodied Volkswagen LT55 905 (E905 LVE).
