Libertybus 2911 (J 127203) (ex YR59 NPO) in St. Helier – 6 Aug 2019 (P1030670)

Tuesday 6 August 2019 – Libertybus (CT Plus Jersey Limited) is part of the London based HCT Group and was awarded the contract to operate the public bus network on Jersey in January 2013. At its formation Libertybus placed 33 new Optare Solo single deckers, 6 new Alexander Dennis Enviro400D double deckers and 4 Fiat Ducato mini-buses in service as well as inheriting about 42 former Connex Transport Jersey Limited vehicles.

In May 2015 five Scania N230UD OmniCity double deckers were transferred from CT Plus, London that were new in February 2010 to operate Transport for London contracted services. Two of them are seen here outside Liberation Station (bus station) in St. Helier. 2911 (J 127203) was previously registered YR59 NPO and 2909 (J127201) was previously registered YR59 NPE.

The main bus station (Liberation Station) stands behind the building behind the buses. Opened in 2007 it can however only accommodate vehicles up to 3.5 metres high so the stands for services on which the double deckers are employed are located on the roadway outside.
