379/02 Premier Travel Services (Cambus Holdings) G379 REG at Cambridge - 1 Aug 1994

Monday 1 August 1994 – Premier Travel Services 379 (G379 REG) seen at Drummer Street, Cambridge having arrived on the 1200 National Express service 314 from Birmingham. Following the opening of the new A14 ‘A1-M1 Link’ earlier in the year National Express launched a fast service between Birmingham and Cambridge as did Cambridge Coach Services with its service 70. Neither achieved the expected success and gradually both were withdrawn. 372 was a Plaxton Expressliner bodied Volvo B10M delivered in March 1990, one of 14 such coaches for National Express contracts (G369-382 REG). (On 12 May 1990 I drove this coach from Cambridge to Norwich and back and it was to be the only Expressliner I ever drove).
