Ribble Atlantean (photo transposed - printed in reverse!)

Date unknown - This photograph came back from processing having been printed ‘back to front’ resulting in what looks like a left hand drive Metro-Cammell bodied Leyland Atlantean. It is in fact a Ribble example leaving Rochdale for Preston on the 1340 service 244 and was seen crossing Manchester Road from The Esplanade to Dane Street. What was then the Library and Art Gallery, now ‘Touchstones’, is the building on the ‘right’. Note the British Railways Scammell mechanical horse in hot pursuit.
