Ribble 426 (NTC 603M) at Rochdale - Aug 1976

August 1976 - Ribble 423 (NTC 603M), a Leyland National 1151/1R new in August 1973 and one of the 40 NTC-M registered batch that carried fleet numbers421-460 (NTC 601-640M). It was seen at the Ribble stop in Packer Street outside the Trustee Savings Bank in Rochdale prior to working service 244 to Preston. The service was now somewhat reduced from the old days and was now one man operated. In the background is a former Rochdale Corporation Weymann bodied Daimler Fleetline working service 464 to Greave. (Looks line EDK 134C new as RCT’s 334 in December 1965 which became SELNEC 6334 in 1969). By this time Greater Manchester Transport had come into being replacing the SELNEC authority.
