296/01 Premier Travel Services VAV 258X at Anglesey Abbey - Sat 29 June 1985 (Ref 22-10)

Saturday 29 June 1985 - Premier Travel Services 296 (VAV 258X) seen at Anglesey Abbey during a private hire trip for Cunard from a hotel at Bar Hill with a party of mainly ladies escaping the afternoon agenda at the hotel or perhaps the golf course. A Plaxton Supreme bodied Leyland Tiger, one of the batch of five such coaches new in early 1982 and the first year of the Tiger model. Whilst getting myself set up in the coach at Kilmaine Close its regular driver (the full time Premier drivers had their ‘own’ coach) strode over with the outright question ‘What yer doin’ in ‘ere?’ after telling him I had been assigned the coach he then strode off to the office muttering ‘Uhh, we’ll soon see about that’. Not wanting to miss the chance to keep the coach for the afternoon I got going pretty smartish. After doing that job I kept it to do an evening bingo contract. (Ref: 22-10)
