Fahrgemeinschaft - Ride sharing

An einer vertrockneten Brennnesselstaude fand ich diese kleine Gruppe von Garten-Bänderschnecken (Cepaea hortensis) in der gelben Form. Da auch an Nachbarpflanzen viele solcher Gruppen waren, nehme ich an, dass sich diese Schnecken noch im "Trockenschlaf" (warme Jahreszeit) befinden und sich in den nächsten Tagen im Erdboden vergraben, um in Winterstarre die kalte Zeit zu verbringen.

I found this small group of garden banded snail (Cepaea hortensis) in the yellow form on a dried up nettle plant. As there were also many such groups on neighbouring plants, I assume that these snails are still in "dry hibernation" (warm season) and will bury themselves in the ground over the next few days to spend the cold period in hibernation.
