Fast ein Winzling: die Gestreifte Zartschrecke - Almost tiny: the striped bush-cricket

Eine relativ seltene, aber ungefährdete sehr kleine (ca. 1,5 cm) Heuschreckenart ist die Gestreifte Zartschrecke (Leptophyes albovittata) mit sehr langen Fühlern. Im Bild ein Weibchen, das auf einer Wiesenflockenblume ruht. Männchen besitzen am Hinterende zwei kurze Fortsätze (siehe commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Leptophyes_albovittata.jpg ). Diese Heuschreckenart bevorzugt leicht verbuschte, warme Trockenrasen und ernährt sich von weichblättrigen Pflanzen. Wegen ihrer Tarnfarbe sind die Tiere nur schwer zu entdecken.

A relatively rare but non-endangered very small (approx. 1.5 cm) species of grasshopper is the striped bush-cricket (Leptophyes albovittata) with very long antennae. This grasshopper species prefers lightly bushy, warm dry grassland and feeds on soft-leaved plants. Because of their camouflage color, the animals are difficult to spot.
