Die Alpakas (Vicugna pacos) sind Neuweltkamele, mit Peru als hauptsächlichem Verbreitungsgebiet. Aber auch in anderen Teilen der Welt findet man zunehmend Alpakas , so auch in Deutschland. Sie werden wegen ihres besonderen Fleisches und ihrer Wolle gehalten oder zur Landschaftspflege oder auch zur tiergestützten Therapie von Menschen eingesetzt. Die Aufnahme entstand auf einem Alpaka-Hof in Iphofen (Bayern, Deutschland). Das PiP zeigt eine Nahaufnahme der Alpaka-Gruppe.

They are kept for their special meat and wool or are used for landscape maintenance or also for animal-assisted therapy for people.
