Herbstfarben -Colours of autumn

Diese Manna-Esche mit typischem, prächtigen Herbstlaub befindet sich zwischen Himmelstadt und Karlstadt am Rand des ehemaligen Treidelpfades entlang des Mains. Manna ist der durch Einschnitte in die Rinde gewonnene, an der Luft eingetrocknete Saft (genannt Manna cannelata) 8 bis 10 Jahre alter Manna-Eschen-Bäume. Der Saft wird als Heilmittel z.B. bei Darmerkrankungen verwendet.

This quite rare manna ash with typical, magnificent autumn leaves is located between Himmelstadt and Karlstadt on the edge of the former towpath along the river Main. Manna is the sap (called Manna cannelata) of 8 to 10 year old Manna ash trees, obtained by cutting into the bark and drying it in the air. The juice is used as a remedy e.g. for intestinal diseases.
