Thomas Church
The Lutheran Thomaskirche is a church of cultural, historical and architectural importance in Strasbourg. In 1681, after the occupation of Strasbourg by France, the cathedral had to be returned to the Catholics because of the unification policy of King Louis XIV.
Since then, St Thomas' Church has been the main Lutheran church in the entire region.
The Thomaskirche is a hall church, with galleries on the side of the left side aisle. To the right and left of the chor apse there are separated late Gothic chapels.
