Monument of the resistance
Resistance Monument at Domplein in Utrecht is a monument in honour of the Dutch resistance during the Second World War.
The monument consists of a six-metre-high statue of a woman bearing a torch, the symbol of resistance.
The female statue is designed in a classic style, with a naked torso and a draped skirt. The Utrecht women's participation in the resistance deliberately led to the choice of a female figure.
A poem was carved into the pedestal:

Remember your dead who fight the good fight
have fought in justice.
