Yes, quite unusual to see such sands around Iceland I think. A great capture here especially showing the red spired church.

Quite different from your usual Icelandic landscapes Gudrun, but just as beautiful...........I had no idea you could get beaches like this in Iceland.

I love the little church, which stands out nicely from the rest of the buildings.

If you look at the PiP first you could easily assume that the church was standing in the middle of nowhere!

In the depopulated Westfjords you often are in the middle of nowhere, farms and small communities used to be cut off in winter (and sometimes still are).
