'Greenland' without any green, but nevertheless beautiful and fascinating...

Herzlichen Dank, Udo! Das Grün ist im Süden, wo damals die Wikinger ihre Siedlungen hatten.... Hier oben wachsen u.a. arktische Weide, Zwergbirke und Krähenbeeren...an geschützten Stellen sogar Engelwurz.

Diese Gletscher sehen sehr schön und majestätisch aus. Herrliche Grüße, Joe

I'd love to think these glaciers would last for many years to come...........but sad to think that probably won't be the case unless mankind gets its act together very, very soon..!!

Thanks very much, Keith! From the plane you can see huge meltwater pools on Greenland's iceshield:-( So it's days are certainly numbered though it will take a while because it's so huge.

Beautiful light and a stunning and majestic scene Gudrun. Looking at these wonderful glaciers you could easily imagine them to be indestructible but we all know that sadly this is not the case.
