Danke vielmals, Udo!

The style is functional and with clean lines. The white and blue look beautiful together. A very good series and it also looks great in black and white.
Sunday greetings Gudrun.

Thanks a lot, Rosa! Nearly 100 years old and still lots of social housing is built that way!

I think social housing here could learn from this design.

In our area there are quite a few social housing blocks from the 60ies in a very similar design.

A lot of ours from the 60's, in many cities, have been blown up because of bad design and building materials. I am not sorry, as they were ugly.

I can well imagine that! Here social housing of better design has by now been thoroughly renovated and insulated but some has also been torn down.

dachte beim Ansehen des kleinen Vorschaubildes, dass es ein Sanatorium oder ähnliches ist, wohnen möchte ich dort nicht ...; aber super Wetter hast Du erwischt ;-);
liebe Sonntagsgrüße an Dich, Gudrun!

Danke vielmals, Christel!

A lovely architectural series Gudrun............sharp and clean images and simple and spartan looking buildings. I especially like the black and w white image in the second PIP.

I gather this is social housing.............and to be honest, it doesn't look too bad compared to some. At least it's not high rise apartments. It seems to have a decent amount of green space around too. I've lived in worse places!

Gudrun club has replied to Keith Burton club
Thanks a lot, Keith! The whole area was designed as a model settlement for people with not much money- bungalows, terraced houses and this block of flats. These days they are rented out to municipal amployees and are much sought after. This design has heavily influenced a lot of social housing built after the war. Sadly the highrises also came into fashion later on (70ies/80ies)

Perfectly exposed photos. Particularly like the perspective in the main photo. It really leads the eye through the scene. Wishing you a lovely week ahead, Gudrun.

Gudrun club has replied to Heidiho club

Hi Gudrun
A very nice picture, which I like very much!
A very nicely maintained building.
Certainly very different from the social housing estates we get here which are covered in graffiti and have delinquent youths dealing drugs in the stairwells...
Best Wishes, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!

Thanks a lot, Peter! They were built as inexpensive model housing but these days they are an architctural icon and listed- the two houses by Le Corbusier are World Heritage. The Weißenhof Estate belongs to the City and they rent it out, mostly to City employees who aren't allowed to change anything- you see quite a few Wagenfeld lamps in the windows;-)..
