Twirled (3xPiP)

SSC: take a photo and post process it to achieve the goal for your subject

I made an ICM photo of some books, then used polar coordinates to create an orb and added some twirl for good measure

This is how it looks without ICM (1/6, f/8, ISO 500)

Original ICM photo (handheld, see EXIF on the right). Developed from RAW in Lightroom, additionally I adjusted the tone curves and the WB (to 2850 Kelvin) and cloned out the dust on the sensor.

In PS Elements: changed to square, polar coordinates added

I think languages are not so much a problem but that you need editing software to do it. I have no idea whether orbs would be possible with PicMonkey.

I don't think they're possible on PicMonkey but you can actually make them quite easily on PIXLR. I was going to do this for the challenge but for some reason, it kept freezing up on me. PIXLR was where I learned to do them when I was in TSC. They're such fun!

I never tried PIXLR!. If there's freeware available to do orbs then a challenge shouldn't be such a problem, especially if you add a link to an instruction video.

I am in awe of your processing skills Gudrun...............this is a stunning little series,

I do have to admit though, that my favourite is in the middle PiP (the horizontal stripes). It is absolutely wonderful and it would look superb printed up on to a huge canvas and hung on a wall somewhere!!

A great choice of reading material as well.............one of my favourite authors!

Thanks a lot, Keith! I myself also like this best, but as processing was the challenge I reckoned it didn't have enough processing (the stripes are done in camera by moving the camera during the exposure).
