Prayer Wheel (3x PiP)

SSC: "Guess what I am"
Take a photo in a way that your subject isn't too easily recognized. Then we can all guess what it is. Try not to make it too hard or involved or too processed.

If you're having trouble, the PiPs from left to right give help, showing successively more. The right one shows the object completely. btw- the middle part is moving:-)

Solution: it's a prayer wheel with solar panel used to put on the dashboard of a car, as seen in Bhutan (but mass produced in China: www.amazon.com/MeiBoAll-Energy-Household-Batteries-Decoration/dp/B0721WDKGB )

Ich hab's in Bhutan gekauft, ist aber China-Import. Das Ding hat eine Solarzelle und die Bhutaner haben's auf dem Armaturenbrett stehen, damit sich's dreht, wenn sie fahren....

Schönen Dank, bk! Nur dass der Rosenkranz nicht von selber betet;-) Die Buddhisten haben das Beten-Lassen zur Kunst erhoben, da gibt es z.B. auch wasserbetriebene Gebetsmühlen und natürlich die Gebetsfahnen, wo der Wind das Beten erledigt...

Ganz einfach:-) In dem mittleren Zylinder ist ein Stück Papier mit einem Mantra, in der Regel "Om mani padme hum". Durch das Drehen wird das Mantra immer wiederholt, so wie es auf den Gebetsfahnen durch den Wind weitergetragen wird.

Gut möglich, dass das in Nepal nicht ganz so genau genommen wird;-) In Bhutan werden augf den Pässen sogar die Strassen im Uhrzeigersinn an den Gebetsfahnen und Chörten vorbeigeführt.

EIgentlich ist das ein ganz billiges Ding, gleiche Machart wie diese unsäglichen Winkekatzen in den Asienshops, aber es fasziniert, wie sie sich von alleine in Gang setzt, wenn die Sonne scheint.
