Tintern Abbey

Tintern Abbey
Tintern was a Cistercian monastery, founded in 1131 by Walter de Clare on the banks of the River Wye. After the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII it fell into ruin. The "romantic" ruins inspired writers and painters, among them Wordsworth and Turner.

Quite fascinating really Gudrun. The processing lends itself nicely to the age of the Tintern. The image of the South Tressept in that the one can enjoy the lovely countryside surrounding the monastery. I am enjoying your series Gudrun. :)

Another story delving into our past Gudrun. Again your monochrome presentations of this give timeless feeling to it all. Great PiPs which continue our photographic journey of this famous old Abbey of which I too visited some years ago now.

Well done, Herb

Thank you, Herb! Britain's ruined abbeys are utterly fascinating. Sadly this was only a brief stop on our journey, no time to go in an explore.
