This is a solar lantern turned upside down. Notice the little flame.
After a day in the sun, I brought it in because it was terribly windy. Put it on the kitchen table and it wouldn't light. I cursed and was annoyed because I figure just another piece of junk from Amazon. I looked for a switch and the switch was already on. Still no light when right side up. Then I accidentally turned it upside down as it is now and the thing lit. Again I said piece of junk from Amazon.
Light bulb moment.....until I realized that I had overhead lights on the kitchen. In order for the lantern to come on, it needs darkness. When I turned it upside down, it was dark on the solar side. When I turned the overhead lights in the kitchen off, it lit up.
Go figure!!!!!
Duckling walking among the lily pads on the rooftop of the main greenhouse at Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, New York. Digital watercolors and crayon.
Looking down the Hudson from the Tappan Zee Bridge towards the skyline at dusk. You can see the little lights from the boats, the George Washington Bridge and Palisades.Wanted to make this more interesting so did it in digital painting incorporating a lot of different media.
Pink flowers in a crystal vase with vintage pearls
I was one of the people who originally came over with this group. Actually met friend who I still communicate with through it.
Congrats to all and can't believe it's been 500 challenges.
A vase filled with pink tulips that are wilting perched on a kitchen cutting board. The flowers are against the background of a white tray. A wicker basket is hidden in the shadows.
This is one of my favorite images because of its simplicity and because of the little petal that has gently fallen on the cutting board.
Isolated this feeder by taking the photo in portrait mode on the iPhone (nice blur in background) and using a little radial filter in Camera Raw in Photoshop.
Busy today and was looking for something last minute to fulfill the challenge. This is kinda ugly but kinda nice. It is the front of a snow plow with a Christmas cup from Starbucks thrown on top. This was left over from the winter plowing.
Added a little energy to enhance the photo. Also, like the rusting of the bolts and springs.
