*R*I*P* BDD : Ben de-Dog
Folder: SOME OF THE ANIMALS IN OUR LIVES
Ben has left to cross the rainbow bridge, just after Noon on the 4th June 2024. The last thing he heard was me telling him what a good lad he was and I was hugging him to the end. His ashes were handed back to us on 12th June 2024.

BDD - found a seat
Ben has found a comfortable seat - his day bed is now in the rubber duck, and he can sit in there, out of the wheelhouse, and admire the view.
BDD - me, too
whn - wave dog
BDD - sunset walk
BDD - course watch
Ben watching Ian at the helm, from the main cabin roof. He had just "woken" Sara up, who is finding the breeze chiller than the bright sun would suggest, hence the warm jacket.
BDD - sea dog
Ben being a (young) sea dog, standing on the cockpit lockers and keeping an eye on the course.
I had just been using the binns to do some wildlife watching, mainly birds.
MFS - assistant helmsdog
Ben has snuck into the wheelhouse. (sorry about the focus, I'll blame the camera but I was in a hurry, and he didn't stay there for long.)
BDD - supervising
MFL - evening rest
Catching the last few rays from the sun, cuppa in hand and dog to hug ... the end of a calm and sunny day.
BDD - new office
Ben's new office - as the canine harbour master - he likes to sit and watch the world go by ... currently he is drying off after a swim and chasing a ball around his beach.
BDD - determined
Having claimed it - Ben was determined to play with this log, he dragged it quite some way along the beach. It was soaking wet and therefore almost too heavy to float, never mind carry (assuming his gape would have been big enough).
BDD - optimist at low tide (sand)
Ben, Do you really think I'm chucking that log for you ? Not a chance ! (it was so waterlogged that it weighed far too much, also it was very smooth and slippery).
Note: the sand level, the recent weather and tides have removed much of the normal pile in this corner. Usually, about three quarters of the stone visible here would be covered. At times, almost all !
BDD - that stick again
BDD - shake
BDD - catch
Ben jumping to catch the ball, something he does - a lot ! He was a good five feet in the air just before the shutter clicked. Usually, his jump is at an odd angle, distance or speed that makes capturing an image difficult, this was the best of many attempts to capture him doing the jump ...
BDD - freedom at lunchtime
This is the area for the lunchtime walk - plenty of room to run after the ball. The blue ball was in use today ...
BDD - very happy
Ben looks around to check on me - despite the "goofy" look - he is really very happy, with both tail and tongue wagging; as he bounces around waiting for another chuck of the ball during the post-lunch walk.
BDD - wot wave ?
