Red coat

21 Jan 2018 27 25 889
I always like the view down this lane - the line of lamp-posts, the cobbles, the crow-stepped gables and the wonky roof lines of the old cottages. I was standing admiring how the snow enhanced it even further, despite the greyish day, when this young woman walked into shot in a postcard-perfect red coat.

Horsey Frosty Fence Friday

One from a couple of winters ago. The magnificent Kelpies on a frosty December day, with the snow-covered Ochil hills behind in the far distance. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kelpies

Rabbit has the play park to himself

29 Dec 2017 18 17 796
Rabbit doesn't usually get a chance to go on the swings because he's a bit too small. However, for some reason, the play park was deserted and he had it all to himself!

Conquering the ice-covered crags of Torry Bay....

28 Dec 2017 14 10 599
Rabbit went for a walk on the shore between Culross and Torryburn. He was intrigued to find the sand and mud and all the wee shells and stones coated in ice crystals. He also liked the blu-ish winter light.

Happy snowy Fence Friday

Our first proper snowfall of the winter. For a few short hours last Friday, it turned the woods around our town into a wonderland. Rabbit trekked up through the woods to admire it all. He wore his red jumper rather than his white jumper, so that he would show up against the snow ;-) Happy First Fence Friday of the new year!

New Year swim

03 Jan 2018 10 12 636
My first swim of the new year today. While parts of Europe, England and the south west of Scotland were buffeted today by stormy winds, the North Sea coast in East Lothian was surprisingly calm. As you can see, this little bay, between Gullane and Aberlady, was like a millpond. And there was even sunshine! Happy new year to all our friends on ipernity from Rabbit and his staff xx

This fine little fellow appeared at the door of my garden shed yesterday. He's still hanging around today, but I think he may leave us in the next couple of days or so.....

I wish I was back in Liverpool

25 Nov 2017 19 19 626
Rabbit in front of the 'three graces' - the Liver Building, the Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool building. It was a pretty stormy day, but we managed to take this in between rain showers. A fence too! HFF! The Dubliners - I wish I was back in Liverpool www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXaEzTF9IU4 I wish I was back in Liverpool, Liverpool town where I was born Where there ain't no trees, no scented breeze, no fields of waving corn But there's lots of girls with peroxide curls and the black and tan flows free There's six in a bed by the old pier head and it's Liverpool town for me

From football to frocks....Grayson Perry's Turner…

06 Dec 2017 7 10 783
It's not all football on Rabbit's Liverpool itinerary. Here he is in the lovely Walker Gallery admiring some interesting frocks. The dresses were created by English artist Grayson Perry, who was awarded the Turner Prize in 2003 for his intricately decorated ceramics. Perry collected the Turner Prize wearing this dress which he embroidered with rabbits, some of them including the name 'Claire' - his transvestite alter ego. In his speech, Perry said 'it's about time a transvestite potter won the Turner!'. Rabbit loved these little embroidered rabbits, and the gorgeous satin material. www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/grayson-perry-4657 'Madame George' from Van Morrison's superb, transcendent Astral Weeks: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrOgYjp20j0
