Rabbit enjoys a stroll around Teguise, the former capital of Lanzarote. There's a big tourist market here every Sunday - complete with 'English breakfast' and 'German bierkeller' pop-up cafes - but Rabbit prefers it the rest of the week, when you can walk round in peace and admire the handsome old buildings, painted white by law like all Lanzarote buildings, and the views of the surrounding countryside (surprisingly green).
Haria Fence Friday

Rabbit liked this picturesquely delapidated fence in Haria, including the wild flower take-over of the garden. HFF!

A strange, beautiful and mesmerising place, laid out with great care to showcase the many different varieties of cactus, from towering monsters to modest little species the size of a tennis ball. Some are ferociously spiky, others furry, others like octopus tentacles. Rabbit was entranced.

"Going out for carrots - may be some time". HFF!

Rabbit treks bravely through the snow to see if the carrot shop is open.
HFF and stay warm and safe.
This snow is rubbish!
We're getting a wee bit fed up of this now

I couldn't tell if this 'bridge' carried the sheep over an obstacle not visible in the picture, such as a stream, or if it served some other purpose, but it tickled me to see the sheep lining up patiently to cross. Only to find that the grass was equally green on the other side..... HFF to all!
Kinnoull Hill

A winter walk up to the splendid Kinnoull Hill on the outskirts of Perth. The tower is a 19th century folly - apparently intended as a replica of the towers along the Rhine in Germany. Down below is the River Tay winding its way to Dundee and the north sea.

Rabbit is a frequent visitor to National Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street – he often pops in for a quick visit whilst in Edinburgh. This is the grand gallery, including the optic from the Inchkeith lighthouse in the firth of Forth, designed by David Stevenson in 1889.
On this occasion Rabbit was at the museum to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018 exhibition, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London. Do try to visit it if you can! Some stunning images, including some which will make you cry in anger at what the human world is doing to animals, and some which will make you want to throw your camera away saying ‘I give up’ - such as the jaw-dropping images taken in the ‘aged 11-14’ and ‘aged under 10’ categories….!

Another lovely willow creation on the shore of Loch Leven, near the Vane Farm RSPB nature reserve. Happy willow Fence Friday to all!

Large willow dragonfly sculpture by the path from Kinross to Vane Farm RSPB reserve on the shore of Loch Leven. Well camouflaged in winter against the dried grass and reeds!

....this time, without Rabbit!
Kicking myself that I only had the baby camera and not the big camera with me today - but with light and skies and colours like this, even the baby camera didn't do too badly!

What a beautiful day today! It took us by surprise, after a dreich damp day yesterday and snow earlier in the week. If you walked quickly and stayed in the sun, it even felt warm!
Here is Rabbit enjoying the winter sun on his fur, by the shore of Loch Leven, between Kinross and the RSPB wetlands reserve at Vane Farm.
Hopefully the last of the snow this winter .... HF…
