Paula Rego en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paula_Rego
The Portuguese-born artist Pauls Rego is known for her dreamlike narrative canvases. Her work is often described within the context of Magic Realism, a style that emerged in literature and the visual arts and explored the combination of Realist subject matter with a Surrealist or ‘magic’ touch. Here, a series of ‘lifecycles’ are depicted, expecting couple, and a trio of child, a young woman and elderly female figure stands alone off to the side of her canvas, perhaps contemplating what is ahead of her.
