Ornamental Cabbage

Saw this Ornamental Cabbage in the rather fine gardens at Fort Calgary. They also have a wildflower garden next to their cultiavted garden.

Another find at the Fort Calgary gardens. I was fascinated by the opening flower of this Zucchini - some interesting patterns and texture, not to mention colour.

Candy-striped Pinwheel

I was fascinated by the pinwheel at the centre of some of these flowers that I saw at the Reader Rock Garden in Calgary. I believe they are from the Mallow family. The pink and white stripes reminded me of candy rock in England when I was a young girl.

Hollyhocks

Think I got carried away a little today, photographing the insides of some Hollyhocks flowers. Someone has planted a circular garden outside their own garden fence, extending into North Glenmore Park. These Hollyhocks still had a few blooms on them.
