Louise Grandjean (1870-1934); French soprano.
In 1893 she made her debut at the Opéra-Comique as Isabella in Hérold's "Le Pré aux clercs". Here she was engaged until 1902. In 1894 she performed the role of Alice Ford in the French premiere of Verdi 's "Falstaff" in the presence of the composer and she was much praised by Verdi for her performance. From1895/1911 she was also engaged at the Paris Grand Opéra. Here she created in 1906 the role of Phèdre at the première of Massenet's "Ariane". In 1904 she sang at the Bayreuther Festspielen the role of Venus in Tannhäuser. Her most memorable roles were Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni", Valentine in "Les Huguenots, Bertha in "Le Prophète", Chimène in "Le Cid", Salomé in "Hérodiade", Aïda and Desdemona in "Othello". She also excelled in the Wagner repertoire: Tannhäuser, Lohengrin, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Tristan und Isolde. After her active career she became a professor at the Conservatoire National de Paris.

On the photo she is seen as Venus in Wagner's "Tannhäuser".
