Georges-François Menu by Petit

Georges-François Menu by Petit
Georges-François Menu (1848-1886); French bass.
In 1873 he made his debut at the Grand Opéra Paris as Nevers in Meyerbeer’s “Les Huguenots”. Here he performed in several premières: as Jacques in Mermet’s “Jeanne d’ Arc” (1876), as Indra in Massenet’s “Le Roi de Lahore” (1877) and as Albin in Gounod’s “Polyeucte” (1878). After leaving Paris in 1880 he appeared first at the Opéra in Marseille and then in Bordeaux. He died at the age of 38 before his career reached it’s peak.
