Photo consists of a small section of the Joie de Vivre (Joy of Life) sculpture created in 1998 by Mark di Suvero (b. 1933). It was his first artwork in NYC and stands at 70 feet tall.

We were all wrong. Even though from a glimpse it looks like one of many Calder sculptures in NYC, this sculpture was actually created by Mark di Suvero. I added the info above. :)
