Computer languages were specially developed, including one in French (Prolog), which was a source of pride for the research community from which it originated.

Sorry William but I think AI is a deceptive menace but now that it is out there it can't be put back in the box (so to speak) we will have to live with the consequences whether we like it or not :(

I think it depends, James. For instance putting AI in charge of a nuclear weapons arsenal like China is a dangerous move that will imperil the world. Using AI for editing, artistic creation, optimizing work is a great benefit.

Geoffrey Hinton who is recognised as the "godfather" of AI regrets the development of AI primarily due to the potential risks the technology poses to humanity. I have already found that AI can give misleading information.
Far from being the Guardian and Friend of Humanity I believe it will be the downfall. But we each have our own opinions and it does make a point of discussion.
