Cheap Street, Frome.

Cheap Street, Frome.
Cheap street in Frome (pronounced froom) has retained its historic medieval character, with a leat running down the middle, carrying water from the stream beneath St John’s Church. There are a wide range of independent shops and cafes selling books, clothing, records, jewellery, bags & artisan food, bread and cakes. I did notice a couple of empty shops that I hope will soon be filled.

The residents of Frome, Rosa, must have known you were going to pay a visit, as the bunting is festooning Cheap Street. Cheers, Joe

They've put the flags out for you, Rosa. As far as empty shops are concerned - I wonder if they will ever be filled. Shrewsbury is plagued by them and the arcade resembles a mouth with missing teeth. ;-)

Thank you Carol. Most of the shops in Cheap Street are long standing businesses. I hope they can all survive his difficult period!

Happy Wednesday.

They always do that for me Amelia ;-)) It's a shame to see so many empty shops. I do know that a record shop, Raves from the Grave, that was in Cheap Street has moved to the adjacent street because of the increased rent! I know this as my brother Ray is probably their best customer ;-))
