Oooh, interesting. I never found that pasty shot when I was there...........now I have to go back again........they seem to have a nice veggie selection.

Anyway, this is such a quintessentially English country house...........I love all the climbing plants and the overflowing pots of flowers. Beautifully captured Rosa.

I like the half-timbered building too.........presumably part of the pasty shop. The PiP and the pirate artwork is lovely.

A great pair of photos to start the week with..!!

My nose took me straight to it Keith....but didn't succumb to them on this visit, but next time!!

As you know there are some beautiful old building there and yes, you are right, the half-timbered building is the side of the pasty shop.

Thank you for your great comments and I hope you have a great new week.

A place I have never visited but how pretty this is Rosa. The white cottage surrounded by beautiful flowers is a delight and the pirate with his pastie made me smile.
Terrific shots and another of your dreamy village finds.

Have a lovely week

It's very nice Carole, if you're ever that way. I don't know what the connection is between the pirate and pasties....but it makes a good picture ;-))

Many thanks for your kind comments and I hope you have a good new week....very warm here!!

A very nice location for the pie shop Rosa. Love all the flowers and climbing plants on the white building, very nice! I would definitely fail to walk past the pie shop without trying a pastie!

All the best, Doug

A very nice pirate landmark!!!!!
The name of this village intrigues me: this "LE" as the masculine article in French and the word "rice">>>>are there rice fields in the area?????!!!!!!
Good evening, Rosalyn****
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Nouchetdu38 club
Thank you Nouchet. I looked it up and 'Le-Rice' means 'brushwood' or 'the rise,' which would be appropriate since the church stands 50 ft above sea level. The Normans often prefixed a name with 'le'. There are a lot of places in England with French names. A beautiful village in Hampshire is called Beaulieu. On a road I use when visiting a friend in Gloucestershire, I pass through two villages called Petty France and Dunkirk.

Definitely no rice fields in Hampshire, haha.
