What a beauty.........I don't think I've seen this variety before.........the shape is quite different although the individual flowerlets look same. It looks splendid against the dark background.

The close up shot is just gorgeous you've captured the fine detailsin the petals beautifully. I couldn't possibly pick a fave........I really love them both.

I went to the garden centre for an entirely different plant last year, but came away with this one. I hadn't seen the variety before either. I am pleased with it and think it will have many more flowers next year. Thank you for your kind comments Keith.

I am coking alright, but I am not out in the heat very much. I have a day out arranged with my youngest daughter on Thursday, so hope it's cooler then...she loves it! Are you and your wife coping OK? It was 35c when I looked earlier! Dreadful fires in southern Europe. So sad to see.

Just seen on the news there have been some wild fires in the UK including some on the outskirts of London, where there have been garden fires caused by the heat resulting in some houses burning down. Nothing as bad as Southern Europe though.

I saw that as well Keith. Tonight the temperature has dropped and it feels fresher. I hope that's the end of the really high temperatures.

A nice capture of a lovely bloom Rosalyn although I don't think I would get one I like pink or red ones and lace caps, I only have one now it was my Grandads it' not looking very good, for some reasons cutting will not root, I also have a Host that was his that shows no sign of slowing down despite the snails !!

I like the lace cap ones. May get one for next year.
Tha pink hydrangea I have is old but not as old as your grandfather's.
