Hi Nick,

Thanks for your quick visit. You are right, on the turntable. They had just wheeled it out of the shed for some publicity / filming and had it 'give a twirl' for the newsreel cameras. I presume it had just come to the end of a major overhaul, as the paint job was immaculate.

Hi Andy

Thank you so much. They certainly wanted to display this one to the newsreel cameras today, which gave the rest of us some different shots.

My Dear Füsun,

Thank you so much for your very kind words here... A big publicity day for the railway..
The locomotive is newly painted, just for us today (maybe).

Love Peter

Hi Peter,

What lovely framing, and the engine is beautifully captured. I also like the little details such as the two men chatting and a glimpse of the hillside behind the train.

Best wishes, Rosa.

Hi Rosa,

I am really happy that you like this one, thank you!! They were doing a publicity event for this locomotive, so quite a few photo opportunities. Usually I will photoshop any extraneous distractions from the background on this kind of picture, but (like you) I reckoned those two guys deserved to be there!

Thank you Roger,

I don't know too much about the loco, except that it is a 0-10-0 tank engine carrying the number 41-E.
It has just been overhauled.. I think!

Best Wishes
