Hi Frank,

Thank you for visiting, and I am really honoured that you like it. Yes, it is narrow gauge. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland were built to serve the local slate mines, and the gauge is approx 60cms, same as the tracks in the mines. The locomotive is a double Fairlie, so of course two chimneys, and it is coal burning as the picture was taken, so plenty of smoke!.

I am really happy that you have enjoyed it. Of course when it is possible to go to the station every day, sooner or later the sun will shine, and the smoke will go the way you want!
Today the station is very different, so a piece of history too!

Hi Peter,
It's what I've been doing for a year or more. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get out and about as much as in the past so my usual mountain and cliff-top walks and photos have been somewhat curbed. But I have had pleasure in going through the archives and selecting a few here and there!! :o)
I shall look forward to seeing some of your Pano archive shots!
