... another nice (whoa, really nice) railroad shot ... I like the way the engine in the background mimics the foreground subject ... exposure time generates a dramatic effect ... of course, a "pop" of red color ...

(tangent -- is this narrow gauge, or just my skewed perspective?)

Thank you so much, and sorry for late reply, I have been away..
I am pleased that you like it. You are right, it is narrow gauge (1 metre), and of course very late on a winters night. I always find it worthwhile to take a range of exposures when doing steam at night, simply because we can't predict how the smoke will blow!!.

I am pleased that you like it. As you know, I do try to do a few of these night shots when I get the chance, and this was one big chance!! The entire yard at my disposal!!

Thank you so much for the surprise visit, and awards, as ever, much appreciated!

I am so pleased that you like the efforts.. One thing I have learned with taking photos of steam locos at night is to try a number of different exposures, as we cannot predict how the smoke will blow or look, and then try them all again and again!! Maybe one will look OK!

Of course it helps to be here all evening!!
