Not the best of weather (although the afternoon turned out to be glorious) and yet I enjoyed the shoreline walk.

Well, I'm fond of this characterful cliff face on El Cancho Largo, Sierra de La Cabrera.

I had a flat here for about a year (2012/13) on the 11th floor with great views of any sunrise that showed itself.

Like many once sizeable towns in the countryside of central Spain, suffering an inexorable decline as the youngsters drift towards the cities for work. These trendy off-road vehicles belong to the restaurant / bar owner from Madrid who opens at the weekends only to cater for the Madrid weekend lunch clientele (which of course included us - the owner is a friend of a friend).

For a short while, I lived high up in a tower block and saw many amazing sunrises and the occasional sunset.

Will the storm come this way?

Well, yes it did. As I've told before, the forecast was for a hot and sunny day and all I had was a t-shirt. Half an our later and I was a drowned rat. Snow and hail too! But before I could really freeze, the sun came out again and I dried off and warmed up very quickly

Sierra de La Cabrera. I did get back to the bar just in time, which was the important thing!
Full screen gives one 'the only way is up' incentive!
If averagely fit, you get to the summit in about 45 minutes from here. I actually find that coming down takes only marginally less time - say 35 minutes - due to the powdery, unstable nature of the rough paths; these are always easier to ascend than descend!

A flat I was in for a couple of years a while back. Caught this beauty from the kitchen window.

Terrific walking country whether up above as here on the South West Peninsula Coast Path or, down below at low tide for a good rock hop and scramble!

Another Boxing Day shot from my sister's house. Taken 20 minutes before the previously posted shot.
