I sheltered outside Aldi's on the Glorieta de Cuatro Caminos, barely 2 minutes from my flat.
My umbrella was in my flat.
After 10 minutes, I made a dash for it and got thoroughly drenched.

On the ridge at the left is the white guano-stained Cancho de La Bola: favourite roost of Griffon vultures. You've seen a few of my vulture shots from that spot I'm sure. If not, here is an album: www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/album/1022196
There is a circling vulture in there. Can you spot it?
Full screen please.

Spot the Griffon vulture.
Peñalara, the highest point in the Sierra de Guadarrama(2428m, 7975 feet) is on the horizon, nearly dead centre. I am at approx 5,000 feet, so considerably above Ben Nevis.

I live in a flat on the left and in the middle where the interesting windows are is a music school and if the wind is in the right direction I get wafts of wonderful music!
Yes, the storm broke that evening!

I came here knowing that if the fog didn't lift, at least I knew the paths back even if almost blind (I knew them so well, even this early in my visits here). But I hoped for more than that and this is what I got!

Where two well-known Madrid streets meet, Calle de Bravo Murillo and Calle Santa Engracia (my street) at Cuatro Caminos. I live very near here and on a summer's evening you can hear excellent music over the rooftops from the music school situated in the interestingly-shaped building seen here.

It has bcome traditional for me to do a handstand on that rock on the left. Unfortunately I usually walk on my own and so no one is on hand to take shots and I haven't worked out a timer delay so I can take shots of myself!!

I took this two years ago with HFF in mind, then ignored it as being of little interest. But I came across it again and decided that I rather liked it! For Pam.
WOOPS!!! I've done it again! After a hard day and then going onto ipernity in the small hours, I'm prone to having the odd senior moment! Please accept this as if it were late on Thursday, not Wednesday!
Thank you!

Carn Gloose (or Gluze), near Cape Ciornwall, West Penwith, Cornwall, South West Peninsula coast Path. The light conditions and cloud effects were a little bit odd that day.
This should be mapped as was quite clearly on GPS. Maybe teething trouble with the new mapping service?
