Sea carrot on a misty day.

The day started out foggy and ended up in brilliant sunshine. This was early on but there were signs of the fog lifting. Sea carrot is in the same family (the parsley family) as carrots but I have no idea if any part of it is edible.

Godrevy from above Navrax Point, Cornwall. St Ives in the distance. Just guessing but the yellow flowers could be a variety of aster, The white/pink-ish flowers are sea-carrot. For Pam.

Crane Castle was an Iron Age (possibly older) clifftop fort and settlement. It has fallen into the sea over the centuries and I am standing on what would have been the landward battlements. Maybe another 200 years before it falls away completely?

St Agnes' Head, Cornwall

30 Jul 2014 50 67 893
When I visit Cornwall, my first tradition is to leap down the grassy bank to the edge of St Agnes' Head, lightly skip across the granite rocks and plonk myself down in a favourite corner at the end of this peninsula, while-away a few hours contemplating the universe, quantum physics, why men need to wear ties, Jeremy Corbyn and the intricate design of manhole covers, ... Theresa May and why her first name is impossible to pronounce by my Spanish students, before gently sauntering back uphill having taken 2 or three photos. A pint or two of bitter and a packet of dry-roasted in the Victory Inn at Towans Cross and I am a pig in clover. In three weeks time time ... Please!

One of the ascent / descent routes to or from the ridge of La Sierra de La Cabrera. I took the shot from the path (steep, admittedly but neither exposed nor dangerous!), not the cliff face. However, I don't expect micritter to believe me! :o)

Another shot of the best positioned tomb ever!

Prehistoric and brilliant. Unfortunately there are no contents now - tomb robbers very soon after and wild weather down the centuries cleaned this out but still ... What a terrific site for a tomb! Obviously someone much loved (or feared?)

A horrible day, weatherwise but later it turned out absolutely gloriously. In England (and more specifically Cornwall) "you don't get climate, you get weather" This is part of a shoreline walk / scramble / rock hop I have done many times and enjoy immensely.
